A Baby Guinea Turaco

12009418.jpg
A baby Guinea Turaco grows successfully in the Tropical Aviary.
The Garden had two previous cases of artificial hatching(both because the parents abandoned the eggs) of turacos, but both resulted in failure and those failures disappointed the bird staff.
This time, however, the parents of turaco were quite eager to take care of their egg, the egg hatched on April 1st and the baby grows all right.

A shot of an adult Guinea Turaco with its beautiful colouration and characteristic crest. Who can't imagine that from this baby it'll grow up to be like this beautiful one?

The baby sat still as I casted the camera toward it, but it got upset and started to run from here and there in the cage when i entered. It jumped about 30 centimeters high with its immature wings flapping. You can hear the voice of the parents that were getting angry toward me.

On April 18th it weighed 110 grams. Presumable crest is seen on its head.
