Ruddy Shelducks 


These are three brothers of Ruddy Shelducks that live in the Waterfowl Aviary since April 11th.

The centre one that quacked most. Perhaps this is the leader.

The one on the right that always follows the "leader".

The one on the left. It has a unique feather pattern on its face that looks as if it were masked.


Here are some shots of the past.

February 22nd, 2009. They snuggled up to heat each other.

March 30th, when they self-introduced at the Tropical Aviary. Their downs were gradually replaced by adult feathers.

April 11th, the first day when they were released into the Waterfowl Aviary. Thou they looked slightly apprehensive, they got along with original residents without fighting with them.


They are strolling around the centre of the aviary recently. Please feed them when you see them!
